2026–27 Season Outlook
HOLDJames has a route to Charlotte minutes through defense before the fantasy offense fully arrives.
Sion James gives Charlotte a young wing whose physical defense and willingness to play within a team structure can create opportunities before he becomes a major scorer. That can be an important pathway on a roster already containing several young offensive players. Defensive statistics and rebounds are the most likely early fantasy contributions, while shooting and secondary creation determine whether the ceiling expands. Charlotte's depth means James has to earn minutes through the parts of his game that do not require the ball.
James has a plausible long-term role, but the fantasy production needs to become more established before moving beyond HOLD.
